Tish’s Vision for Riverton: Building Blocks for Our Future
Tish is focused on delivering detailed plans that are based on core principles and building blocks for our city’s future. Her detailed leadership and commitment to collaboration are what Riverton needs!
Fiscal Responbility and Taxpayer Watchdog
Tish has always maintained a personal conservative budget, which allowed her to retire early. She reviews the city budget line by line every year. She will send the message that we support our great city employees while maintaining high standards of work and accountability. She will look for cost savings while remembering that a safe, well maintained city contributes to the financial value of our personal properties.
Public services such as police and fire will continue to be supported with a focus on proactive interventions to save tax dollars and keep our first responders safe. Tish is a strong supporter of Unified Fire and Riverton City Police.
Ensuring Public Safety and Supporting Law Enforcement
Building on our Community Spirit
Community events are the heart of Riverton. The Arts Council, Riverton Town Days, and other beloved traditions speak to the pride our residents feel and the strong connections we’ve built together. As mayor, Tish will continue to champion these events, ensuring they remain well-supported and thriving into the future.
Annual district parties will also be explored as a way to reach out and interact with residents and their Council Members.
Committees will be supported by City staff and new committees will be explored to boost resident involvement and ensure elected officials are held accountable.
Supporting Local Businesses
Tish is a strong advocate for Riverton businesses and the growth of high-quality business partners in the city. Businesses provide opportunity and a strong tax base, directly benefitting Riverton residents. Tish will collaborate with the South Valley Chamber of Commerce and Mountain West Chamber to support existing businesses and attract new enterprise to Riverton.
Maintaining roads, providing good access, and highlighting businesses are just a few of the initiatives that should occur. These activities all enhance the quality of Riverton businesses. Riverton has identified areas for commercial growth in the master plan. Those areas should be maintained, but expanded development into residential areas is not needed.
Disciplined Improvements
Disciplined improvements will occur focusing on connecting and continued improvement of trails and designations for active transportation.
Safe sidewalks, cared for neighborhoods, safe street solutions will be reviewed to make sure that Riverton works for all of its residents.
Tish will get into the details with city staff and respond to constituents when areas of concern are identified.
Leading with Civility
Resolutions will be explored as a way to communicate Riverton’s values, while ensuring city government keeps a local focus.
Tish’s top priority will be doing what’s best for the community—not personal fame or financial gain. She will foster positive relationships and always respond to resident feedback, even if people disagree with her.
A Force for Good in Our Community
Riverton will collaboratively work with surrounding communities to resolve issues common to all. This collaboration will include connecting existing trails with neighboring cities and continued dialogue and support of fire and police.
Responsible Growth
Riverton is now 80% built out. As we move forward, our density and growth should be guided by the Master Zoning Plan. The plan should be created with the input of residents, with meetings in each district to allow for citizen feedback and education. There must always be a balance between personal property rights, while maintaining current residential neighborhoods.
